● NX Wedge Tension Clamps: Tension clamps are primarily used in overhead power lines or substations to secure conductors and grounding wires. They are connected to tension insulators via connecting hardware or used to secure grounding wires to utility poles and transmission towers.

● Based on their structural design and installation methods, they are mainly classified into three types: bolt-type, compression-type, and wedge-type.

● Core Materials: The body and wedge are made of malleable cast iron, offering high strength and good toughness; fasteners are made of Grade 8.8 hot-dip galvanized carbon steel, providing anti-loosening and anti-corrosion properties; the insulating cover is made of silicone rubber, ensuring weather-resistant insulation; stainless steel and aluminum alloy materials are available upon request to suit specific applications.

A: The NX wedge-type clamp relies on the self-locking friction generated by its internal wedges to bear the load; it requires no crimping and is detachable. It is primarily used for medium-to-small cross-section conductors on 10kV and lower voltage lines.
The NY hydraulic-type clamp relies on the plastic deformation caused by hydraulic crimping to bear the load; it is non-detachable and offers superior gripping strength. It is primarily used for high-voltage lines with large cross-section conductors.

Q: Why does the NX Wedge Tension Clamp tighten further as the tension increases?

A: When the conductor is subjected to tensile force, it drives the internal wedges to move in a tightening direction. Consequently, the normal pressure and friction between the wedges, the clamp body, and the conductor increase simultaneously, creating a self-locking effect. Therefore, the greater the applied load, the more reliable the clamping becomes.

Q: Can the NX Wedge Tension Clamp be used on insulated conductors?

A: Yes. The NX series features specific structural designs tailored for use with overhead insulated conductors. During installation, it is generally unnecessary to strip away the insulation layer; the clamp can grip the insulation layer directly without causing any damage to the conductor's insulation.
