Q: What is the difference between Z-type and ZS-type angle clevises?
A: Z-type is a single angle clevis with one connection hole at each end for single insulator strings. ZS-type is a double angle clevis with one large hole at one end and two small holes at the other end for double insulator strings.
Q: Why is the angle clevis designed in a 90-degree shape?
A: On tension towers, the cross-arm direction is perpendicular to the conductor route. The angle clevis achieves direction conversion, making the insulator string parallel to the cross-arm while the conductor extends along the line direction, resulting in compact structure and rational force distribution.
Q: Can the angle clevis be installed horizontally?
A: It can be installed either horizontally or vertically, determined by tower structure and space arrangement. However, the large hole end should be near the tower body and the small hole end should connect to the conductor side to ensure rational force distribution.
Q: What causes deformation of the angle clevis during operation?
A: Possible causes include overload operation, external impact, excessive tightening torque during installation, material defects, or improper heat treatment. Minor deformation requires replacement; severe deformation requires cause analysis.
Q: Can the angle clevis be welded to other fittings?
A: Welding is absolutely prohibited. Welding will destroy the hot-dip galvanized coating and material properties, reducing mechanical strength. Bolt connections or specialized connection fittings must be used.
