A: The single socket clevis has one socket for single insulator string suspension, suitable for suspension strings on tangent towers. The double socket clevis has two sockets for double insulator string suspension, suitable for tension towers, angle towers, or large crossing projects with greater mechanical loads.
Q: Why does the socket clevis require localized quenching treatment?
A: The socket, in conjunction with the ball-eye shackle, withstands contact stress and rotational friction. Localized quenching increases surface hardness and wear resistance, ensuring long-term operational flexibility, reducing wear, and extending service life.
Q: Can socket clevises from different manufacturers be mixed with ball-eye shackles from other brands?
A: Mixing is permissible provided that the socket diameter (S) and socket depth (h) comply with the standard dimensions and tolerance ranges specified in GB/T 2315. Non-standard dimensions may result in excessively tight fit causing rotational jamming, or excessively loose fit causing impact damage.

A: Check whether the ball diameter is out of tolerance, whether foreign objects or deformation exist in the socket, and whether the ball-eye shackle and socket clevis models are matched. Forced installation by hammering is prohibited to avoid damage to the socket surface.

A: Possible causes include dust or contaminants entering the socket, metal debris from long-term operational wear, surface corrosion in the socket, or insufficient clearance between ball and socket. De-energized inspection, cleaning, or replacement is required.
