A: Minor corrosion may be treated by rust removal and application of anti-rust paint. Severe corrosion or zinc coating detachment requires replacement. Continued operation with corrosion is prohibited to avoid compromising strength.
Q: Can the ball-eye shackle withstand conductor tension?
A: The ball-eye shackle is primarily designed to withstand vertical loads and horizontal wind pressure. It does not directly bear conductor tension. Conductor tension is borne by tension clamps and tension insulator strings.
