Self-Tightening Structure: Utilizes a wedge locking principle. When the conductor is under force, the wedge and the strand slide simultaneously along the clamp cylinder wall towards the outlet, tightening gradually until a locking state is achieved, exhibiting self-tightening characteristics.

Installation Instructions


◆ Pre-installation Preparation: Verify that the model matches the wire, inspect the product, and prepare the necessary tools.


◆ Conductor Preparation: Clean the conductor of oxidation and debris. There is no need to strip the aluminum strands. For steel-core aluminum stranded wire, ensure the steel core is not exposed; no conductive grease is required.


◆ Wedge Installation: Insert the conductor into the body, place the wedge, and tap the wedge lightly until it fits snugly. Ensure the conductor is secure and the wedge is not misaligned.


◆ Post-installation inspection: Verify that the wedge is securely fastened and the wire does not slip. Install the insulating cover. When working at heights, ensure the installation is firmly secured before loosening the pull rope.

Q: What is the difference between NX Wedge Cable Clamps and NUT clamps?

A: NX is a non-adjustable wedge clamp with a fixed length after installation; NUT (NX + U-screw + T-screw) is an adjustable wedge clamp, allowing adjustment of the guy wire length and tension by adjusting the screws. NX is used for the fixed end, and NUT is used for the adjusting end.

Q: How to choose the appropriateNX Wedge Cable Clamp model?

A: Select according to the diameter of the steel strand: Measure the outer diameter of the steel strand and refer to the technical parameter table to select a model covering that diameter range. For example, GJ-50 steel strand has a diameter of approximately 9.0mm, so NX-2 (Φ9.0~11.0mm) should be selected.

Q: Why is it necessary to rewind the steel strand during installation?

A: Rewinding the steel strand (rewinding after bending) is key to utilizing the wedge self-tightening principle. After rewinding, when the steel strand is under tension, the wedge will tighten between the steel strand and the clamp cylinder wall, forming a reliable anchor. The rewinding length is generally not less than 300mm.

Q: What are the consequences of installing the wedge backwards?

A: Rewinding the wedge will prevent locking and, in severe cases, cause a wire slippage accident. The larger end must face the larger opening of the clamp, and the smaller end must face the smaller opening. Carefully check the markings or consult a technician before installation.

Q: Can the wedge clamp be reused?

A: Yes. NX wedge clamps can be disassembled and reused after installation. However, after disassembly, the body and wedges should be inspected for cracks, deformation, or severe wear. If any damage is found, they should be replaced.

Q: What is the difference between the NXL series and the NX series?

A: NXL is an aluminum alloy wedge tension clamp, mainly used for overhead insulated conductors; NX is a cast iron/steel wedge clamp, mainly used for steel strands.
